When applying for a Canadian Visa, you may need to visit a Canada Visa application center (CVAC) to submit your passport or other required documents. VACs serve as official locations where applicants can complete the application process. Let's get to know more with the information below!

WHAT IS A CANADA VISA APPLICATION CENTER (CVAC)?

The Canadian government has official agreements with commercial organizations known as Canada Visa application centers (CVACs). They send your passport to the visa office in a secure manner. Canada VACs are official facilities where you can get your biometrics (fingerprints and a photo). They are located all over the world and speak local languages.

You can go to a CVAC which is not in your home country, or you can call, email, or visit a CVAC in person (check the website of that VAC first).

To find a Canada Visa application center near you, you can visit the official website of the Government of Canada. On this website, you will find a search function allowing you to locate the nearest CVAC based on your location.

SERVICES AT CANADA VISA APPLICATION CENTERS

Passports and decision documents are securely returned by all CVACs. They also give you access to a computer so you may apply for your visa online.

Additionally, some CVACs also offer photocopying and application photographing services, as well as SMS messaging updates. Application fees are accepted for payment. When returning passports and decision envelopes, some CVACs use courier services. Applications for permanent resident travel documents are also accepted.

WHAT SHOULD YOU DO BEFORE APPLYING FOR A VAC?

  • Check the website of your VAC to know about their hours and services

Find the opening times, addresses, and contact details for Canada Visa application centers near you. This helps you know more about your Canada Visa application center and will save you traveling and waiting time.

  • Make sure that you are qualified to enter Canada

There are some situations in which entry to Canada is not permitted, hence they are not eligible. You may be denied entry for a number of reasons which includes involvement in illegal activity, violations of human rights, or organized crime.

Please confirm your eligibility before visiting a CVAC as you can also be ineligible for admission due to security, medical, or financial concerns.

  • Don’t forget to learn about any changes to the application procedure

It's important to note that the submission process may vary depending on the type of visa you are applying for and the country you are applying from. Therefore, it is recommended to check the specific requirements and procedures provided by your nearest Canada Visa application center or the official Government of Canada website.

IT IS NECESSARY TO PROVIDE YOUR BIOMETRICS

You should learn what to do with your biometrics (picture and fingerprints). If it's the first time applying, the majority of candidates must provide their biometrics. As part of the biometrics gathering process, people give their fingerprints, pictures, and money. To make entering the nation simpler and safer, Canada acquires biometrics.

For the purpose of giving your fingerprints and photo (biometrics), you should visit the designated Canada Visa application centers (VACs). Remember to make an appointment to provide your biometrics before you go.

YOUR PRIVACY AND PERSONAL INFORMATION ARE SAFEGUARDED

CVACs are expressly prohibited from giving you any advice regarding your visa, and they have no part in the decision-making process. At an IRCC office, Canadian immigration authorities decide on all applications.

The Canadian government is not represented by CVACs. Private businesses or international organizations are in charge of managing VACs. Only within the conditions of a written contract with IRCC are they permitted to offer particular services to applicants.

When choosing the Canada Visa application center service provider, the Government of Canada places a high priority on protecting personal information. Each VAC is required to safeguard personal data. The official agreement between the Government of Canada (GC) and the service provider may be terminated if any of its provisions are broken.

It's worth mentioning that visa application processes and centers may be subject to change, so it is always best to refer to the official websites. Another way is to contact the relevant authorities for the most up-to-date and accurate information.
